Already a federal contractor, the GSA certification will open doors to more contracting opportunities for this relocation logistics business by streamlining the process.
“GSA certification is huge for us because it means we’re pre-vetted,” said owner Yolonda Higdon. “It’s a very rigorous process and took us over a year to get approved. This certification proves the quality of our delivery and overall services, and commercial clients also see that and know we’re already vetted, screened, and approved. So, it’s an easier way to work with us.”
Federal government agencies often look to the GSA Schedule first to purchase goods and services. GSA Schedule contracts streamline the government sales process because they have pre-established pricing, terms, and conditions that government buyers can use to purchase from a company. While GSA Schedule contracts are primarily used to sell to federal agencies, in certain circumstances they can also be used to sell to state and local governments.

Also in June, Higdon passed a rigorous corporate board exam, called the Corporate Directors International (CDI) exam, which certifies her as a board candidate and qualifies her to sit on paid and private corporate boards. “I want to sit on transportation and logistics boards,” said Higdon, “because that’s my world and this is what I do.”
